NSW: Two men charged over club hold up

SYDNEY, Dec 23 AAP - Two men have been charged over an armed hold up at a bowling club in central western NSW.

Police alleged the pair bailed up the manager of the Dubbo Bowling Club about 11.30am (AEDT) on Monday, escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A 22-year-old man was arrested at a home in nearby Brocklehurst, where police allegedly found the stolen money.

A rifle was also recovered from the Macquarie River.

A 42-year-old man was subsequently arrested and both were charged with armed robbery.

The 22-year-old also faces an additional count of possessing a shortened firearm.

The pair have been refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court later on Tuesday.
